The Steer for newborn mother and newborn Team will be at the Ijora/ Badia Community on a visitation. Our objective as usual is to reach out to pregnant women and newborns alongside their mothers living this deprived and under served community. We will be carrying out health awareness campaigns, giving out birth clean kits (majorly those needed during and after labour), medical check-up for pregnant women and newborns, giving out mosquito nets , health tips and medications.

Ijora Badia is one of the undeserved communities in Lagos state, Nigeria. This community is a slum that lacks access to clean water, inadequate sanitation, poor waste disposal, indoor air pollution and over crowding. With the decadence in the environmental condition of the community, it is indeed straightforward to note the health hazards that the community suffers. Pregnant women suffer major health challenges and this contributes immensely to the maternal and infants mortality.
